THE BELUGA BULKHEAD

Sometimes an opportunity presents itself in the most unlikely of scenarios...

When some close friends approached us to help visualize their renovations to an existing 100 year old house in the tightly held suburb of Murrumbeena in Melbourne, we couldn’t help but get a little bit creative and also propose a ceiling design that helped to amplify the existing design.

With a focus on re-referencing a human scale so necessary in such a generously sized space, the resulting “beluga” bulkhead has surpassed all the expectations of both client and architect in how it brings sculptural and organic elements to the space, as well as a delightful playfulness.
